Get One Appointment Crowns With CEREC in Ann Arbor, MI
With CEREC technology, we can restore damaged teeth or enhance your smile with bio-compatible, tooth-colored materials giving you brand new crowns in one day. This technology has a track record of almost 20 years. More than 100 studies confirm the clinical excellence of the method. This procedure is useful for replacing old silver filings, worn out composite fillings and broken teeth.
In as little as an hour and a half you can have a beautiful strong crown. The restorations are metal-free and tooth-colored. High-strength ceramics are used that are close in composition to your natural tooth structure.
With same day crowns there are no messy impressions and no temporaries!
The technology is in the dental treatment room and used while you are in the chair. Instead of taking an impression we use a sophisticated camera connected to a computer to take photos. This means no impression tray and material for you to gag on. We use the camera to take a digital picture of your prepared tooth.
The computer and CEREC 3D software converts the digital picture to a three dimensional virtual model of your prepared tooth. We then design your restoration on the computer screen using the software while you watch! Once we have designed your restoration (usually about 5 minutes), we click a button and the design data is communicated via a wireless radio signal to the CEREC milling unit located in our office. Within five to ten minutes your new crown has been manufactured.
The new restoration is then placed on the tooth and checked for fit. Upon confirming a perfect fit, the restoration is placed in a furnace. Under high heat and vacuum the furnace finalizes the crystallization process of the ceramic. Our office uses the highest strength lithium disilicate porcelain called E-max. This adds an extra half hour to the appointment, but we think it worth spending a little extra time for a superior result.
After the furnace the restoration and the tooth are cleaned and the crown is bonded into place.
This technology allows us to provide you the highest quality, most lifelike dental restorations in just one visit to the dentist...in, out, and on with your busy life.
We often have new patients come to our office specifically to have their new crowns completed utilizing this procedure..... and the results are fantastic!
